Pilates in the Park

Join us Saturday, October 28th at Veteran’s Park for a refreshing morning of Pilates & Yoga for people of all fitness levels! Proceeds will go to help provide life-saving mammograms and other diagnostic services to Flagler County Women!

The 45-minute Pilates session starts at 9am and the 45-minute Yoga session will begin at 10 am. Your $15 donation will include both classes and a gift. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own mat or beach towel to practice on and a bottle of water.

Let’s end this years Breast Cancer Awareness Month on a relaxing note!

Flagler Beach First Fridays

Celebrate the first Friday of the month at Flagler Beach’s First Friday event September 7th from 6-9 PM.

 

This months First Friday will be dedicated to pets. The local Humane Society will be there to provide low-cost shots and on-site pet registration.

 

There will be live music from the Navy Band, a Corvette Cruise-In and much more!

 

Patrons can park in the Farmer’s Market with donation.

Flagler Beach Park Hosts Intracoastal Fishing 101

On Friday, June 29th Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach will be hosting a fishing program for beginners. Starting at 10a.m. participants of all ages and skill levels will be invited to learn the basics of fishing in the saltmarsh area by the Intracoastal Waterways outlining Flagler Beach.

Ranger Richard will be instructing and it is encouraged that participants bring their own fishing equipment, bait and supplies however it is not mandatory. Participants must also meet fishing license requirements prior to attending the program.

Reservations are not required but notification of participation is requested. The cost of each event is included in the regular park entrance fee of $5.00 per carload of two to eight people, $4.00 for one person in a car and $2.00 per pedestrian or bicyclist. Flagler County to host LighterKnot Adventure Race on October 16

Adventure Racing is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and its coming to Flagler County on October 16. The Princess Place Preserve will be the home of the LighterKnot Adventure Race which is being put together by Pangea Adventure Racing.

There are two difference races that teams can participate in.

  • Sport Adventure Race: The 3 hour Sport Adventure Race is perfect for those new to the sport. Canoes, canoe paddle, and life vests will be provided for all teams. Teams must bring their own paddling equipment.
    • Race Distance:
    • General Distances:
    • Bike: 10-20 kilometers
    • Trek: 3-6 kilometers
    • Boat: 3-6 kilometers
  • Elite Adventure Race: For those more familiar with the sport, the Elite Adventure Race is an 8 hour race that requires more strategy, skill and physical endurance. Canoes, canoe paddles, and life vests will be provided for all teams. Teams may use personal paddles and life vests. More details will be provided at the pre race meeting

    • Bike: 20-40 kilometers
    • Trek: 6-12 kilometers
    • Boat: 6-12 kilometers

Wadsworth Park

Wadsworth Park is a busy place from day until night. You will find two playground areas, a picnic pavilion, canoe launch, soccer fields, tennis, basketball, and racquetball courts. Also included is a 60,000 square foot  fenced dog park where you can bring your family pet to run unleashed. In addition, Wadsworth park has a skateboard park open from dawn until 10:00pm.

As you can see, Wadsworth park has something to offer for everyone. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer outdoors and take advantage of all the amenities it has to offer. Wadsworth Park is located at Highway 100 Flagler Beach, Florida.
