3 Family Friendly Hikes in Flagler Beach

Now that summer has official arrived, kids and parents alike are taking advantage of some vacation time and Ecotourism is booming (participating in activities that don’t harm the ecosystem). Visiting national parks are a great way to get out of the house. Gamble Rogers is conducting three different types of hikes that are family friendly and economically inviting, going on in June! 

Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach is known for great site seeing photographs! Be sure to remember your camera and share your pictures with us! See you there!


Low Tide Bike Ride – June 21, 2013 12:00pm-2:00pm
Bring your bike, or rent one of ours, and join a ranger for a low tide bike ride!  This Ranger led event features a 3 mile low tide bike ride and bird watch. Bring water, bicycle, snack, binoculars, and sunscreen. Riders should be prepared for weather conditions on the beach which could be influenced by heat, cold, wind and sand.

Full Moon Beach Hike – June 23, 2013 8:00pm-9:00pm
Join Ranger Tony for a beach hike!  All ages welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult.  The hike will leave from the beachside day use pavilion. Please bring water, a flashlight and dress for the weather. Hike will be less than a mile long.  Moon rise is set for 8:44 p.m.

Shore Bird Watching Beach Walk – June 30, 2013 9:00am-10:00am
Join a Park Ranger for an introduction to the shorebirds that frequent the beach of Gamble Rogers. Please bring binoculars if you have them, along with drinking water and sun protection. Dress for weather conditions. The walk will be less than a mile long. Meet at the Beachside Day-Use Pavilion.

Cost: The cost of each event is included in the regular park entrance fee.
$5.00 per carload of two to eight people, $4.00 for one person in a car and $2.00 per pedestrian or bicyclist.

Guy Harvey Comes to Flager Beach!

Guy Harvey, known for his illustrations of marine life and conservation efforts, is coming to the Flager Auditorium in Flager Beach! The Event will take place June 7, 2013. Join us from 7:00pm-9:00pm for the introduction of Dr. Harvey’s latest film!


An Evening with Guy Harvey is a film festival and speaking event mash-up. Harvey and George Schellenger will be introducing their latest film, Tiger Shark Express.  Flager Beach will host guests in an open seating environment and invite attendees to ask questions and discuss conservation efforts with Harvey and Schellenger.

The price of the ticket includes a complimentary pass to Marineland, an experience with Guy Harvey, and the introduction of Tiger Shark Express. The open discussion is sure to change the way attendees view the ocean. Don’t miss out on this evening of fun!

Beverly Beach Memorial Day Celebration


Join us this Saturday, May 24 for an early Memorial Day celebration! Starting at 4 pm there will be a few speeches in honor of fallen veterans and service people. There will be food and live music playing throughout the evening. Mother’s Day at the Grand Club

Taste of Flagler


Come join us for our 20th Annual Taste of Flagler! On April 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Central Park, a dozen local chefs will cook their most famous dishes to earn bragging rights for the year in the Flagler Beach area. Visitors will get to vote on dishes such as, appetizers, entrees and desserts to choose a winner. In order to try the dishes, you must purchase tickets, which are only $1 each. General admission is $5 and kids under 12 years old are free. There will be live music, beverages and areas to sit back and relax. You do not want to miss out on this event. Low Tide Bike Ride


Try something different this weekend. Come join us for our Low Tide Bike Ride! The event takes place on March 8 at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area. Reservations are not required but notification of participation is requested. We suggest you to bring water, snacks and sunscreen. You can bring your own bike or rent one of ours. This is a 3 mile bike ride and we will stop for bird watching. Motorcycles and Nature at Local Gallery


Come out to celebrate with Ocean Books & Art bookstore and kick off Bike Week 2013! The opening reception is March 1 and the event lasts the entire month. Flagler County photographer, Ed Siarkowicz, will be displaying his newest collection “Motorcycle Wildlife.” Siarkowicz’s photographs are well-known by Flagler County residents and periodically seen on the cover of “Fantastic Flagler” magazine!
