Mayday Memorial Surf Classic

On Saturday, May 21st starting at 9am, Flagler Pier will host Mayday Memorial Surf Classic in memory of Dollie Sue Watson. This event will feature men and women’s pro amateur divisions and legends. In addition, there will be several activities including a raffle and bikini contest. All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association. Entry deadline is May 18th so apply today!

Peter Cerreta Opening Reception

On Friday, January 7, 2011, featured artist Peter Cerreta will greet gallery guests at his opening reception at the Gallery of Local Art at 208 S. Central Avenue.

Cerreta “enjoys creating images that push the observer to peel away surface layers of what they see initially to the layer that connects with his/her perceptions.”

His works will be on exhibit for the entire month of January.

Palm Coast Half Marathon

On January 23, the Palm Coast Half Marathon will be taking place. The race starts and finished at the Marin – 200 Clubhouse drive, Palm Coast, Fl. The marathon will feature live music, refreshments, medals, and hydration stations as well as medical course throughout the course. The results of the race will be available online and in the local newspaper. The real fun will begin at the Finish line. All donations will go to the USRA. Volunteers are still needed for the event. 9th Annual “Festival of Trees”

Free Youth Tennis Clinics & Open House

The Palm Coast Tennis Center and Belle Terre Park will be hosting free youth tennis clincs and an Open House on December 28. The clinics will be divided in the following age groups: 5-7, 1p.m. – 2p.m.; 8-12 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.; 13+ 3p.m. – 4p.m. Those in attendance will be provided with all the tennis equipment necessary and will be given refreshments as well.

Holiday Kayak Trip

The Florida Agricultural Museum will be offering holiday kayak trips on December 16th, 18th, 27th, and 30th from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The tripe will begin from a remote access point of the Pellicer Creak Conservation Corridor and will pass by several sections of Pellicer Creek including South Fork, Hewlitt’s Brand, North Fork, and Schoolhouse Creek. Those who are interested will enjoy both history and ecology about one of the best-preserved floodplains in Florida. Participants will be guided a professional kayak guide and naturalist from Ripple Effect Ecotours. Kayakers will be protected from coastal breezes, and sunlight by the dense canopy which will allow for a relaxing and beautiful tour throw the floodplain forest under the Cypress and Tupelo trees.
