Feed Flagler Plans Community Thanksgiving Celebration

The success of last year’s dinner has prompted community leaders to plan another Community Thanksgiving Celebration to take place in community centers and church facilities across the county.
Drawing on the outpouring of volunteers and community support from last year’s Feed Flagler, Team Flagler has broadened the effort to include a community Thanksgiving Dinner to unite all Flagler County residents.
Feed Flagler is a team made up of government, business, church and community representatives. The team is seeking donations for a meal that will be shared in more than 10 locations across the county. The effort is also aimed at providing nonperishable bags of groceries for Flagler families for the upcoming holidays.
“The idea behind the Community Thanksgiving Celebration is simply bringing neighbors together around the table from different walks of life,” County Commissioner Milissa Holland said. “The goal is to foster unity and transform our community to sustain success one person at a time.”
Team Flagler will host a community Thanksgiving celebration at more than 10 locations across the county. The effort is provide a dinner for more than 2,000 citizens and the clock is ticking. The group is looking for lots of help from anyone willing to join them.
Those who wish to contribute financial support should contact the Flagler County government at 313-4001. Individuals who want to volunteer to assist in the effort should contact Jean Mac Allister at 597-2950. Feed Flagler also needs individuals, groups and businesses to conduct food drives for non perishable foods to contribute to the effort.
